Frequently Asked Questions

Common inquiries from procurement and engineering teams

What is the typical lead time for oil-immersed distribution transformers?

Standard configurations: 8-12 weeks from order confirmation. Custom designs or high-capacity units: 12-16 weeks. Expedited production available for urgent projects with surcharge. Lead time includes manufacturing, testing, and preparation for shipment. Delivery time depends on destination and logistics method.

Can you customize voltage ratings and vector groups?

Yes, we support full customization of primary voltage (HV), secondary voltage (LV), and vector group configurations. Common vector groups include Dyn11, Yyn0, Dyn5, and Yzn11. Tapping range and tap positions can be specified per project requirements. Provide your electrical specifications during inquiry for accurate quotation.

What standards do your transformers comply with?

Our transformers are designed and tested per IEC 60076 series (international), IEEE C57 series (North America), or ANSI standards as requested. We also comply with regional standards including AS/NZS (Australia/New Zealand), BS (UK), and GB (China). Type test reports and certifications available upon request.

Do you offer OEM/ODM and private label services?

Yes, we provide full OEM/ODM support including custom nameplate design, branding, packaging, and documentation in your company name. We can manufacture to your specifications and technical drawings. MOQ and terms depend on customization level. NDA agreements available for proprietary designs.

What is included in the factory acceptance test (FAT)?

Standard routine tests include: winding resistance, voltage ratio and polarity, vector group verification, no-load loss and current, load loss and impedance voltage, insulation resistance, applied voltage test, and induced overvoltage test. Test reports certified by our QC department. Witness testing by client or third-party inspector can be arranged.

How do I choose between sealed corrugated tank and conservator tank?

Sealed corrugated tank: maintenance-free, suitable for remote or unmanned sites, lower initial cost, limited to smaller capacities (typically ≤1600 kVA). Conservator tank: better for high-capacity units, easier oil sampling and maintenance, traditional design with proven reliability. Choice depends on site accessibility and maintenance capability.

What documentation is provided with each transformer?

Standard package includes: factory test report with certified data, nameplate photo, outline and installation drawing, operation and maintenance manual, packing list, and quality certificate. Optional: type test report (if applicable), third-party inspection certificate, material certificates for key components, and CAD drawings in DWG format.

What payment terms and shipping options are available?

Payment terms: typically 30% deposit + 70% before shipment (T/T), or L/C at sight for established clients. Shipping: FOB, CIF, or DAP terms available. We arrange sea freight, air freight (for urgent small units), or multimodal transport. Export packing includes moisture-proof wrapping, wooden crate or open frame per destination requirements.
