The Single Phase Pole Mounted Oil Type Distribution Transformer is intended for power distribution in overhead electrical networks, commonly used in rural electrification, residential supply, and local utility distribution systems.

This type of transformer is applied in single-phase distribution lines to step down medium voltage to low voltage for end users. The pole-mounted design allows installation directly on utility poles, which is suitable for outdoor distribution lines and helps reduce ground space requirements.

The transformer uses an oil-immersed cooling method (ONAN) to support normal heat dissipation during operation. The oil-filled tank provides electrical insulation and assists with thermal management under typical load conditions.

Common application scenarios include rural distribution networks, residential power supply, agricultural facilities, and small-scale utility projects. Different voltage levels and capacity ratings are available to match regional grid practices and project requirements, with designs generally aligned to IEC or ANSI standards, depending on application needs.

Each unit is subject to routine testing prior to delivery, based on applicable standard clauses and project requirements, to verify basic electrical performance before shipment.

What Are the Key Engineering Considerations for Upgrading Distribution Transformers?

Upgrading your transformers seems simple, but a wrong move can cause costly downtime and inefficiencies. This guide prevents that. Key engineering considerations for a transformer upgrade include precise load analysis, lifecycle cost assessment, selecting the right type (oil vs. dry), ensuring installation compatibility, and planning for future maintenance. A holistic approach ensures reliability and cost-effectiveness […]

When Should Distribution Transformers Be Replaced Instead of Reinforced?

If your distribution transformer is aging, the risk is not just failure. It is unplanned outages, safety exposure, missed capacity growth, and long procurement lead times that turn a small problem into a multi-year headache. Replace (not reinforce) when the unit shows irreversible insulation aging, repeat internal fault behavior, lost thermal margin, or when the […]
