This 500–2500 kVA hermetically sealed corrugated tank oil-immersed distribution transformer is built for medium-voltage distribution systems that need higher capacity, stable insulation performance, and reduced maintenance over long operating cycles.

The hermetically sealed design prevents moisture ingress and avoids the need for a conservator, helping the transformer maintain consistent oil quality and insulation reliability in outdoor environments. For utilities, industrial plants, and infrastructure operators, this translates into lower routine service workload and improved lifecycle stability.

A corrugated tank provides both oil expansion capability and effective heat dissipation. The corrugated fins expand and contract with temperature changes while also acting as cooling surfaces, which reduces leakage risk and keeps the structure compact compared with radiator-type solutions.

Designed for outdoor installation, the transformer can be configured for common MV distribution voltage classes, multiple LV options, project-specific tap ranges, and typical vector group selections. It is suitable for standardized networks, industrial power distribution, renewable-related auxiliary power, and public infrastructure systems where long duty hours make reliability and efficiency critical.

What Are the Key Engineering Considerations for Upgrading Distribution Transformers?

Upgrading your transformers seems simple, but a wrong move can cause costly downtime and inefficiencies. This guide prevents that. Key engineering considerations for a transformer upgrade include precise load analysis, lifecycle cost assessment, selecting the right type (oil vs. dry), ensuring installation compatibility, and planning for future maintenance. A holistic approach ensures reliability and cost-effectiveness […]

When Should Distribution Transformers Be Replaced Instead of Reinforced?

If your distribution transformer is aging, the risk is not just failure. It is unplanned outages, safety exposure, missed capacity growth, and long procurement lead times that turn a small problem into a multi-year headache. Replace (not reinforce) when the unit shows irreversible insulation aging, repeat internal fault behavior, lost thermal margin, or when the […]
